Scunthorpe is a small town not far from Hull. My good friends Christine and John Bird came to the gig. The venue was a very inspirational place. Firstly, it run by volunteers, all of the people that work there are volunteers. You couln't meet nicer people. I met Victoria, who I mistakenly took for someone that was born and bred in Scunthorpe and had never left. As it turns out she had left and lived in London and Cornwall for a few years but decided to return to her community. A dark, pretty girl who had chosen her life, I was in admiration.
The venue called Cafe Indiependent, no my spelling is not wrong in this case, is very comfortable with leather couches and chairs. The food was really good, loaded nachoes and a crisp chicken salad, the best on the tour so far.
Not many people, but for those who were there, got a great show. Reeves gives his all every night and both he and Lisa hung out afterwards, signing albums and chatting to the audience. The audience were excited and seemed to love what they were hearing. It was a great night and we drove to Doncaster through mists and sometimes fog. Oh England.

i am pretty rubbish at this blogging business I know. In my defence the WI FI is awful in a lot of places. What isn't awful is this tour. Let me recap Campden I was at my brothers house so I only saw Lisa for a moment before she went on. Her hair was huge and curly and she was all in black as she usually is. My brother and sister in law were there in support as was her cousin Katherine and her boyfriend Adam. The Black Heart is a small upstairs venue, so loud they give out ear plugs at the bar. Lisa's indomitable, larger than life manager, and co writer, Tom Wilcox was there. Paul Cudderford, the other writer,on her her album, played guitar with her. Lisa is coming into her own, her confidence grows daily. Standing high on the front of the stage she threw herself into "One Lunar Month" It's a great song and tongight was an unforgettable set. Paul' s guitar adds a lot of texture and drama. The audience roared at the end of each number. I'm so proud, Mick would have been as well. I know I'm her Mother, so it goes without saying I think she is something special After the gig we all went down to the Groucho and at 4am it was still heaving with people Stuggling the next day, thank God for Andy Barding who drove us to Scunthorpe. Thanks Tom for insisting on gertting us the driver. I'm still recovering !!!!!!
Scunthorpe
I'll get to this later or tomorrow., I miss my phone, it's residing in a safe in Donnington. Thanks Louise for saving it for me.

Lovely drive back to London and now we are preparing to leave for St Albans soon. I am going to take some photos and try and attach them from my phone. We stayed in a lovely hotel in York and looked at the incredible city walls. I would have loved to see the cathedral but we didn't have time. Oh well it is reassuring that there is so much green in England still. I love the country and sometimes when I'm away from London I can imagine a different life.

I am going to skip a couple of days as I'll never catch up. Lia played the Boiler Room in Guildford, again a small crowd but I feel it's good for Lisa to be able to practice her moves. I have to say I think she a brave standing up there all alone!
So on to Liverpool.
We are staying at Tom Wilcox's house. It is his birthday. The gig was at the Studio and it was great. There was a very young band on first, I think the lead singer was 15 ! Very good band though I must say. Lisa was up next and it was her best performance to date. Tom brought lots of friends so it was a nice room.
I have seem performance art before but this is very different.
Reeves was much admired by the first band and it was good to see them watching him so closely.

I have a bit of catching up to do as I have been traveling non stop since I got here. I was at Newark for 4 hours! Hell, I could just write a blog on how hateful flying is. Virgin was the flight of choice this time, I have had it with BA, and apart from the for the miserable delay , and the fact they tried to ditch me in the back of the plane, it was a good flight .
I arrived at Heathrow, Lisa met me, we rented a car, grabbed some coffee and off to Norwich. and the first gig. The weather could not have been more perfect with which to reaquaint myself with this green and sceptered isle.
Lisa and I had so many things to catch up on, the 2 and a half hours flew by.
We stayed by the football ground at the Holiday Inn, ate awful food, and went to Norwich Waterfront Studio.
I knew Lisa was doing something different but her performance was astonishing. I will be adding photos and videos if I can figure it out.
There wasn't many people but it didn't matter. Reeves Gabrels did a wonderful set, a true master of the guitar. I'm going to see the progression of my daughter as an artist. It's a wonderful thing.
